Best way to do a quitclaim to add spouse?

Hi All,

I would like to add my wife to the title of our house. I know this is done via a quitclaim, but I’ve heard a number of ways to do this, from physically going down to the recorders office to contacting my original title company. Any thoughts on the best way to do this?

Its very easy to do as long as you have the legal description of the property. The legal description is technical definition of the properties exact location. You should be able to find it on a single page in your closing documents in the title report you recieved. With this in hand you can just go donw to the recorders office and do it yourself for about $20. If not, contact the escrow company that handled the closing and they should be able to help you with it.
