ParticipantIf you really want to have a reliable car then Japanese brands are still great! I have owned both Japanese and European cars (VW, BMW and Porsche) and I have to say that the German cars are far less reliable and more expensive to repair. However, they are much more fun to drive and have a higher prestige value.

ParticipantFor what you say you want, it seems like Lexus is your best choice. Close second would be Acura. If you want more fun to drive, then Infiniti fits the bill. Germans are expensive to repair. I would never buy a German near or outside of warranty. I wouldn’t keep on outside of warranty either.
