Good call on that Nor-LA-SD-guy. They better not drag out because I have a 100 dollar per diem over the 30 day escrow. If they drag their feet I have to get an extention. You are right, banks are a total pain in the butt.

June 11, 2008 at 8:54 PM #221689SD RealtorParticipantHawk congratulations on you purchases! I would pretty much agree with all of the points that sdr put on his threads. Yours is pretty much an example of getting what works for you at the time it works for you. There is not an argument that more depreciation could continue in the areas that you made your purchases. The simple fact is that these properties made sense for your situation at the present. True you may have been able to buy them at a lower price in the future but your own calculations seemed to indicate that for you, the time was right.
Anyways best of luck!

In fact, to me prices haven’t come down much at all up there. Did you buy a “cabin” or a home. I did see some old cabins that are basically large wood sheds for cheap. But regular 3/2s are holding up. And the area you’re talking about in Alta Loma is another one that I’m looking at. I have a friend who lives there. Prices are still around a million for a home like his, on about half acre, 4000 sq. ft, not $650K as you suggest. For the areas I’m looking at, prices haven’t come down hardly at all for the prime properties. Guess location, location, location still applies.
Poorsaver, thanks to you, Ben
