I had always assumed that Temecula and Murrieta were pretty clean and safe throughout the entire areas. All of the MLS listings show decent or above average home quality which leads me to believe you don’t have the “trailer trash” type areas.
Well, recently while talking to a friend who has lived in Temecula for many years, is telling us to stay away from the “bad areas” while looking for a home. Looking online at various forums and statistics on crime, I can’t see any support of her statement of “bad areas” other than theft and burglaries which you find anywhere. Can anyone elaborate on this? Obviously there will be apartment buildings and condos with party-goers and such which we won’t be living in. I also recognize if you travel outside of the city limits you will likely find the trailer parks with substandard living.
Can anyone elaborate on any neighborhoods to stay away from if they even exist? I can name a few for Oceanside where I live which is why I want out of here as soon as I things are right for our first home in Temecula or Murrieta.
Worst parts of Temecula are as good and safe as best parts of Oceanside. So you don’t have too much to worry about. Murrieta has some spotty areas along the 215, but it’s still quite good.

Obviously what people like and don’t like are relative to their own tastes but my question was “are there any bad areas”, not “is there any areas you prefer not to live in because if your tastes”. And bad areas is in reference to trashy people or homes and high crime areas.
