Participantyeah, but, if we were really really really broke, and it were on the ballot, then it might just pass if it brought in some dough. I think all this ideology argument bs is due to us having too much extra money. once we’re down and out, legal pot will start looking like a sensible idea.

ParticipantI think the problem might be the liquor lobby. They do not want the competition. There would always be those that consider it a gateway drug. It is not like beer is a gateway to whiskey or expensive champagne. I am ambivalent about it and actually voted for medical marijuana, but I do not think it has been handled appropriately in Ca. The government is running out of things to tax. The money we earn is taxed and then it is taxed again upon our death. Death and taxes, nothing new there.
