These latest descriptions of Paul’s strategy for the win remind me of the often-spoofed scene from the movie Downfall, where Hitler is trying to contrive a strategy for winning the war with armies that don’t exist.
lol, yeah I have a hard time imagining Santorum and Gingrich, who have stronger support than RP, dropping out before RP.
Enough people think RP is loony (including me) that he isn’t going to get the Rep nomination, let alone become president.
February 16, 2012 at 8:13 AM #738179UCGalParticipantWhere was Acorn in all of this? Where were the unions?
And why didn’t they have to show ID when they didn’t get to vote?
I thought those were the main sources of voter fraud?
February 16, 2012 at 9:03 AM #738185markmax33Guest

As Gingrich and Santorum probably drop out, those delegates will not be bound and can come on over to Paul freely.
Isn’t that exactly what I said?
Theorem: Santorum or Gingrich, and probably both, have to drop out for RP to have a snowball’s chance in hell at getting the Rep nom.
It is amazing how you can make agreement with my statement sound like a correction.
When you say “drop out” I read that to mean, drop out ASAP. They all drop out in the end, every single year, so the way you used it was confusing.

But the system is set up for him to do well. He is set up to do much better than the media is willing to report. He does have a good shot at the Republican nomination. You just have no basis to back up your comments.

I guess there needs to be a distinction. There is voter fraud and there is election fraud. When the state GOP Chair (A known Romney supporter) elects not to count votes from 17 districts that are known to be Paul territory and an entire county that was the only county Paul won in 2008, it is clear the Romney supporter is cheating in an extreme manner.

In Washington county in 2008 he got 8 votes. And depending on the source, he either won Waldo county this year by 2 votes or the more official looking thing that I found said he won the county by 13 votes. Neither would have been sufficient to provide a Paul win.
I can’t find any reliable source that indicates he actually won either county in 2008. There’s a post on a Paul blog that looks less than final showing he lost Waldo County. The Washington County numbers seem pretty consistent with him getting 8 votes out of just over 200. The only evidence I can find that says he won either county in 2008 is some guy on Drudge says so. Which means I found nothing.

So which is this? Voter fraud (like the title of this thread) or election fraud?I assume you wanted to see Katherine Harris recuse herself as SOS of Florida during Bush v Gore, too. (She was state co-chair of the Bush campaign). And I assume you wanted to see Ken Blackwell recuse himself in the 2004 election when he was SOS of Ohio and had pledged in a letter prior to the election to “deliver Ohio for Bush”?
These folks are elected officials. Obviously – they
are politicians… and endorse/align with other politicians. You seem surprised by it all.February 16, 2012 at 3:49 PM #738224markmax33Guest

Where was Acorn in all of this? Where were the unions?

I don’t care about the Bush recall or any of the other recalls actually. Bush or Gore yeilds the same result, more debt, more wars, more socialism, more police state. Obama/Romney/Santorum are all the same too.

Yes but imagine they actually prove intentional manipulation by the state GOP and what that means for the rest of the vote totals statewide. If they get them to crack we might find out more interesting things later down the road. Paul doesn’t seem to really care because he thinks he has all 24 Maine delegates already but it should be a news story.

If Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination, I buy every Pigg who shows up at the Carlsbad Pizza Port on the Friday after the Republican Convention a beer.

I never said he was a favorite but all you people have written him off and you aren’t informed. He’s probably in first is my point. Anything can still happen, I just want to stick it to the Paul haters.

I could have predicted that you’d decline. Another lesson life has taught me. 🙂

The 8 vote count was wrong:
““Just the votes of Washington County would have been enough to put us over the top. This is an outrage. But our campaign is in this race to win, and will stay in it to the very end,” it continued.
It remains to be seen whether the results in Washington County would lean towards Paul’s favor. In addition, only 118 votes were cast in the county in 2008 – not enough to make up the difference between Romney and Paul if a similar number of voters showed up to caucus.
Neither state chair Charlie Webster nor the staffer who wrote the email immediately responded to a request for comment on Thursday.Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0212/72989.html#ixzz1mbd5AVNX
118 votes for a county sounds much more realistic than 8 votes.
February 16, 2012 at 8:43 PM #738239scaredyclassicParticipantwait; is this election fraud or voter fraud? Is it the voter committing the fraud> or caucasian (one from the caucusites) fraud?
