La Jolla??? Bad example… Haven’t seen a lot of projects going up here in La Jolla. I doubt that you would find lots of new neighborhoods in Greenwich CT, or mid-town Manhattan. Sure La Jolla is brutally regulated… But Chula Vista? CV? Bakersfield?
I’m amazed at where prices have gone, and will be similarly amazed if prices do not retreat to affordability…. Taking the economy with it at the same time!
My statement was to compare the amount of regulations for a location like La Jolla vs. Bakersfield and Fresno. La Jolla, with its coastal location, is subject to countless regulations, environmental restrictions, lot size rules, and public hearings as opposed to Bakersfield and Fresno, where the regulations there are nowhere near as onerous.
