Scripps Ranch schools used to be top flight (my kids went there), but have slipped of late. Be especially wary of the high school. Maybe fellow Pigg SD Realtor can opine on it.
Can you elaborate on that? SRHS has been advertising that 900 API on their digital sign ever since the score came out. Obviously the API is not everything, but it sure covers up any rumor of “slippage” quite nicely.
My husband and I are looking to buy in the north county area. We are drawn to Poway schools, but would also be happy with scripps ranch schools as well. We have been fighting a losing battle in sabre springs in the savannah terrace complex 5 offers all lost to cash investors! now we haved moved onto 4S we have two offers in right now with no word yet….I Would love some feedback on the areas up there. My husband works at ucsd and I am a stay at home mom. We have a budget of about $400k and we are not looking to buy a fixer we have no desire or time to remodel. We have a special needs kid so schools are the uttermost importance to us. Please be honest
4S is nice, if very quiet and sleepy at night.
Your husband’s commute to UCSD wouldn’t be the funnest ever. The 56 sucks in the morning and it’s not like 4S is right there on the 56.
I’m not sure what you intend to buy in 4s for 400k? A 2/1 condo?
I make the 4S to UCSD area commute daily. It’s sort of annoying but not that bad. (Usually about 40 minutes if leaving at 7:45 am).
But yesterday (12/11/12) was atrocious (almost 1.5 hrs), thanks to the major accident on 15S causing thousands of people to try to cut thru Camino del Norte down thru RPQ to get past it.
