4S Ranch REO–still too high

“Yes 4S RANCH REO is way high and most of buyers these days are Second time home buyers like who already can pay or already earned enough on the first home sellers.”

Not if their respective buyers can’t get a loan. Ever hear of the plankton theory???

The candle is burning at both ends folks…when the banks unleash the REOs, then watch the carnage begin.

I have to agree with SD Realtor….I like the Camino Del Sur area. I like how the area is convenient to so many places.
Nice lots….nice homes….great schools….Westview High and a brand new elementary school are all in that area. I like the feel of it every time I am in that neighborhood of town.

I also went to UT as an undergrad and went back to live in Austin after grad school. It’s a great little city, but for someone really into the outdoors, I have to say that I’ll pay the premium to live in San Diego.

It’s all a matter of priorities and I happen to find the proximity of skiing, rock-climbing, open water swimming gives San Diego a healthy edge (for me). Also, I’m in biotech and that’s an absolutely dead industry in Central Texas.

Don’t even talk about Houston or Dallas. I grew up in the first and worked in the latter. All the attitude and traffic of the OC without the ocean or hills. No thanks.

Also, there was some study done on how folks are starting to move to locales where the political climate is more comfortable. I’m not going to comment on who started the divisions in this country, but that’s a major factor why I’m in California doing biotech instead of North Carolina.

Anyway, for those who moved away for space and more bang for the buck, congrats.

DUKE, congrats on breaking from the mold. I’ve met dozens of people from Texas and other middle states and we hear from them on these boards all the time, yet I have rarely heard anything negative from someone actually from there. When in a conversation with someone telling me about how cheap it is, how the family values are better, they have seasons, schools are better, people are better, etc. I usually think but don’t say “then why are you here, you felt the need to keep to do your part and contribute to the traffic.” The premium is only worth it to those who take advantage of it and obviously you do. For me, after 40 years here, I can’t go anywhere else for more than a few weeks, it’s like going back to dial-up, I’m ruined.

That alone has spoiled me on coastal California.

I might take coastal cali over dallas/houston/RDU, but that’s assuming I continue to live near the coast. Otherwise if choosing between Murrieta or Texas, it would be Texas all the way.
