lawyers are sometimes disciplined for matters not directly involving the practice of law, but usually there’s a criminal case involved. Makes it easy for the bar prosecutors.

IN general, the lawyer’s ethics are found in the rules of professional behavior which, as the name suggests, generally govern professional behavior, not just general ethical principals. There is I don’t think any punishment for conduct “unbecoming a lawyer”. On the other hand, if it were egregious enough, the bar might get involved.
I’d call the cops if you thought a crime were involved. if it’s just taking fixtures which might be his, or HELOCs, well, I don’t know.
