who cares if other offers were made? you’re making one and they can either counter, reject or accept. same choices as if there weren’t other offers. it’s probably a standard line for any kind of sales; you’re selling your car on craigslist and you don’t want to lower your price that much. so you tell whoever shows up “oh yeah, i got a couple other people coming to look at it”. big deal, it’s a game.
