Well, houses are taking longer to sell but the values are supposedly holding. Hawaii is a great place to live, albeit expensive. North shore is really laid back and can get really crowded at certain times of the year due to surfing events and stuff. It’s definitely a lifestyle there. It depends on what you are looking for. Hawaii Kai is associated with the wealthier folks. North shore = no shirts, no shoes type of place but lots of fun little boutiques and shave ice (snow cones). Maui is REALLY overpriced and getting pretty developed. I myself couldn’t live on the outer islands as it is too boring for me. However if you could live a slow paced life in a really beautiful place, the outer islands are good. Each island has it’s pros and cons. I can go into that if you like…
