Our neighbor does this, and they don’t have a really big backyard. They do have a nice firepit that the husband built, himself. He also built an outdoor pizza oven (or a bread oven, can’t remember if there is a difference). Perhaps some people wouldn’t like the smell, but I don’t think anyone around us has complained.
