Very good post ctr70 and I agree completely. I was looking for rentals in SD as well but the numbers just doesn’t work out as well as other areas. I’m looking at an area right now in Central Valley that’s selling for around $60k and rent for around $1k. PITI of $48k loan is ~$350. There’s no way I can get that kind of return here in SD.
