[quote=Veritas]scaredycat,
How convenient to cloak your cowardice in patriotism. I am certain you would not have been successful in the military. You probably are not very athletic and you certainly have no heart. Perhaps you would not have passed any psychological tests given either. Sergeant York was a conscientious objector because of his religious beliefs and yet he served with great honor. You are nothing but a coward. I am sure Russ will come to your defense because of his weltanschauung. Allan is under attack because he does not fit the left’s definition of the military because of his literacy (an intelligent warrior). Navy Doc does not count either to them because he is a physician. I salute both of you. The military in the United States continues to be a stalwart institution over the generations despite the constant barrage from the left. May it always be so.
“War will exist until the distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige as the warrior does today.”
– John F. Kennedy (1917-1963), the thirty-fifth President of the United States, letter to a Navy friend

Since it seem to matter to you I served six years and could run a mile close to four minutes and bench press 50 lbs over my body weight in the same workout.If you took the time to know me and have any decency about you would never call me a coward. What gives you the right?
Your assumption of why Allan is under attack is wrong. The problem is not as you describe it, that he is being loathed because he possesses a brilliant mind and is of a military orientation. When he wants to dominate a thread with jingoistic ,self adulating propaganda and verbal abuse and call that winning an argument he gets what he deserves, despite his obvious aptitudes and military service, which we obviously value differently .
