I still think a pump shotgun is a far superior close in weapon, especially in terms of how much damage it does. Put a 3″ magnum buck load into one of their grapes and its Jackson Pollock time.
How about an ‘semi-automatic’ shotgun (no pumping needed between shots). Some of the ones made are ‘inertial’ based. This means that they use the ‘kickback’ of the shell to load the next round as opposed to using gas bled from around the discharging round.
Even states that it is designed for zombie attacks!![/quote]
Uco: That Benelli is a thing of beauty and the AA12 looks like fun, but I’m fundamentally mistrustful of semi-auto shotguns in a combat situation and solely because of the potential for jams. You have a misfire in a pump, you rack the slide and chamber a fresh shell. You have a misfire or jam in a semi, its a whole different, and more involved, set of problems. Nothing is 100% perfect, in terms of functionality, but pump shotguns (and revolvers) are about as idiot-proof as it gets in firearms.
I’ll stick with my old school Remmie 870P, thank you very much. Parkerized finish, Choate top folder, 8 shot mag and 3″ Magnum receiver. Good to go.
