kpbs had a story the other day about la nina. el nino and la nina technically have to do with ocean temperatures in various regions… and apparently we’re in a la nina. This translates to colder, wetter winter, and dryer spring/summer in 2011. Potential for fire issues. At least that’s what I think I remember hearing.[/quote]
My wife has been relating what she is hearing on KPBS radio regarding the alleged current “la nina’ year. She says they are saying that we will have cold and rain now and a drier January and February. Of course if the rain cuts off that early it could also portend a high fire potential, even with a normal summer.
