This is honestly the biggest reason to get your kids into a top (read wealthy) school district. A couple years back when they needed a new computer system an anonomous donor kicked in $10,000 for central servers for a thin client system. We have music, science and art programs funded by the parents. I’m sure there are more but I am too busy to get more involved so I just support however and whenever I can financially. The amount of volunter support is also astounding. Parents in every class every day doing things (grading and administering spelling tests, stapling packets, driving to field trips etc) that allow our teachers to focus more on the students. I dont know that our teachers are any better but I do know they get as much financial and manpower support from the parents as any school in the county.
