That’s not true at all. You don’t need much land to have those stuff, it’s all about house pad to lot size ratio. A 5000-6000 sq-ft lot would be plenty sufficient with a 1300-1600 sq-ft single story house or a 2000-2400 sq-ft 2 stories house to have all those stuff and still not feel cramp. Personally, a front yard is useless. I rarely see anyone use it.
