Thanks everyone.

I have tried some of the apps you mentioned and have also picked up:

– Verizon app which links to our DVR to give TV listings and which also allows me to set up recordings from my phone.

– Zillow for iphone. AMAZING: it uses GPS so you can walk around a neigborhood and see all Zillow info as you stroll.
