Resistance is futile. …
Funny that you started your post with this. I totally agree, but not for Apple products. Resistance is futile for Android when you’re talking about smart phone. Android is growing quickly. Android’s market share has already surpassed all other OS, including iOS. iOS market share has plateau. 5-10 years from now, I bet Android vs iOS will be a repeat of Windows vs Mac.
While you might grab your iPhone and your mbp if your house is on fire, I’ll grab my kid and my phone (so I can make calls) and nothing else. I don’t care about my computer because all of my data is in the cloud, so I can buy another hardware. I used my iPhone 2G and 3Gs, but at first chance, I jumped to my Nexus one and never looked back. I recently tried to use my 3Gs again and I can’t use it for more than 1 day before switching back. Once you start using voice search, voice input, Google map/nav, native G-Mail/Google Voice app, you’ll never go back.
It’s funny you mentioned about auto spelling correction on Mac. Windows with Firefox has been doing that for the last few years already.
