Stan, there are a lot of NECESSARY lessons learned and CHARACTER developed during hard times. I always look forward to them and what I can learn….This country has become a materialistic mess…..Mammon is our God….we VALUE the wrong things and teach our kids the same.
GREED was and is one of the major factors that has contributed to this calamity that is upon us….from Wall Street to your Street….
Maybe this country and it's people can get back to what really matters in life and VALUE that instead of what brand car someone drives, or watch they wear, or purse they carry, or neighborhood they live in….
I am glad I was born into a hard working family in the mid west that places little to no value on material things but rather HARD WORK, HONESTY, INTEGRITY, RESPECT FOR YOUR ELDERS, amongst other VIRTUES.
I think this really helped me to not get caught up in this mess…..I am fortunate to have parents that taught me WHAT REALLY MATTERS.
