Speaking of addiction, I suggest the work of Dr. Gabor Mate, who has been studying addiction for 20 years in Vancouver based Heroin detox clinics. He suggests that pre-natal or early child hood stress is, by far, the biggest driver of drug addiction. Or what he calls an ACE (adverse childhood experience), which increases addictive personalities about 46 fold. He says that about 99.9% of his addicts have had an ACE.

Actually, I think addiction and the brain circuitry involved is related to the spontaneous bad behavior in the UK. In fact, I think it is very related to many negative social health trends that have been manifesting over the decades.
