As to my view of CA, I’d strongly PREFER to live somewhere near the beach, ideally within walking distance. Even if I have to pay a bit more for it, sacrifice space, or maybe rent vs buying. Being able to walk over for a swim or sit in a cafe with view of the water would make the other compromises in CA worth it to me.[/quote]
And it goes without saying there is nothing wrong with that – but it’s not for everybody.
I like going to the beach once or twice a year, and that’s all I need. Even if I don’t make it to the beach in a given year it’s no big deal/loss for me personally. I can take it or leave it.
I value:
*Good schools for my kids
*Affordable housing
*Clean Air
*Clean water
*Recreational Opportunities
*Low Crime
*Parks and sports fields
Those are the things Temecula over-delivers on, San Diego doesn’t unless you happen to be a 1%er.
Why is it so hard for you 1%er coastal elites to get that? Yes, we know you’re better than us (valley of the dirt people).
Yes, I know there’s class warfare, and yes I know you’re winning.
