Some kindergartners already have been molested and will be experiencing molestation outside of school when and if the classes are given. Maybe it will help them stop it earlier if it happens further down the road? Maybe it will have the effect of keeping any would-be pedophile teachers in check. What if they had taught about molestation in the Catholic church? Would it have done more harm than good? I do agree the topic coming from third parties at that age is questionable but there isn’t any serious issue that can be raised at school that we won’t have a much more significant influence over at home.As pointed out already, these classes are optional.
I am glad for having had it be part of school curriculum in my day. If we feel the program has errors in it we will talk about them with our kids. So far, things I haven’t liked about my child’s school experience have provided the benefit of making us teach our children better than we might have, had they not occurred.
