The “age appropriate” “sex ed” is intended to teach children how to defend themselves against sexual predators, not how to do the ol’ in-out. Slapping a blanket label on the whole subject doesn’t work.
As to your comment on Obama’s wife speaking to their daughters about same-sex marriage, I think it would be pretty far-fetched to assume that the discussion was about the mechanics of the situation.

September 12, 2008 at 3:26 PM #269516EugeneParticipantThere’s a lot of flexibility in how you define “age appropriate”. What’s age appropriate for kindergarteners?
n addition to local schools informing kindergarteners that babies do not come from the stork, the state legislation Obama supported in Illinois, which contained an “opt out” provision for parents, also envisioned teaching kindergarteners about “inappropriate touching,” according to Obama’s presidential campaign.
I think it’s far less extreme than McCain’s policy of teaching abstinence aka “no sex till marriage”. His VP being proof that that policy does not work.
