So let me get this straight, you refused to upgrade to XP or even Vista from Windows 95 because of stability? If you’re talking about hardware stability, then that has nothing to do with Windows and MSFT. Majority of instability of Windows is because of drivers written by 3rd party hardware manufacturer. But J6p will never know that. Why do you think AAPL doesn’t just sell their OSX to just anyone, even though the hardware in a MAC is exactly the same as in a Dell or a HP? Of course XP and newer OS won’t be able to run on an old computer that were made around 1995. Can you imagine trying to run OSX (Leopard) on a mac built around 1995? If your laptop died, it has nothing to do w/ MSFT. Blame that on your laptop manufacturer (be it HP or Dell or etc.) I have an IBM 570 Thinkpad that were abused when I was in school and still work right now 10+ years later. I hope you know that different manufacturer use different quality parts (hardware) which will determine the longevity and stability of your computer/laptop. IBM laptops were at the top of the list and HP/Compaq were at the bottom of the list from the big manufacturers.
