I graduated from a public school with 800 kids and 100 went ivy league.
This is nitpicking but… are you sure about that? That seems implausibly high. Particularly for a public high school.
If not 100, pretty darn close. More than 40 went to U of Penn alone. I believe about 90% went to college nearly all 4 year colleges. Even the most of the derelicts turned their lives around. At my 10 year reunion the biggest doper became a CPA. At the 20 year, the guy who made explosives and blew up toilets that got suspended? Went to community college, transferred to a 4 year college and was a physician.
Granted, this is from 2003 – this is what I could find in 60 seconds – but the lowest-ranked public high school that even made this list only had a 3% Ivy League success rate. There are a couple of NJ high schools on the list but none in Cherry Hill. But perhaps things have changed at your high school since you were there.
