[quote=SDisGreat] . . . so do you guys think this park mesa condo is an ok buy if i were to buy it as my primary residence? i m hesistant due to the fact that the 415/month HOA won’t be tax deductible… that a whooping 4980…
Wow . . . SDisGreat, I know this complex is very conveniently located but I would rethink a purchase there if I were you. $415 is A LOT of HOA dues to pay each much on such a small unit. Do you play tennis and would you use the pool on a regular basis?
In the photos of this listing, I noted the kitchen and bathrooms were very small. The baths actually have (substandard) cutaway vanities (space savers for small bathrooms). There are also pet size restrictions. And I take it the complex just has carports and no garages? In 92111, you don’t have to settle for a small backyard either.
You can do so much better size-wise in an SFR.
Once you buy a small condo without a yard or garage, you can never fix this. You are stuck until you sell. A house offers so much more flexibility.
Here’s a little more expensive “short sale” listing on a (slightly busy) corner lot. These sts are not thoroughfares, however – just neighborhood traffic. Even though it has only one bath, you could add one later. It appears to have a smallish 2-car garage. On or steps from 44 bus line, I believe, and walk to mom/pop stores.
SDisGreat, do you know how much stuff you could buy at Home Depot if you consistently spent $415 every month? Just trying to get you to think out of the box a little :=]
