sd_matt: I don’t think Obama/McCain contest will even be close. Obama wins handily. And no, white conservative base will not turn out for McCain. They will sit on their hands like they did in last election, handing Congress to the Democrats. Democrats will take more seats in Congress, get a veto-proof majority (with help of some RINOs) in Senate.
