The noise level is high, and I know first hand. I’ve lived for 3.5 years w/ a window facing right on Black Mountain. It didn’t bother me, much since I choose that specifically due to age (we partied quiet a bit).
However, when we had our first baby, I had to move due excessive noise and lifestyle change. If you’re looking for quiet night, you’re in the wrong location. Now, if you don’t mind having the AC or just AIR on constantly (windows closed), you might be fine (I don’t like air or AC constantly, I like the outside breeze at night).
I heard that one can deploy some soundproof windows in such situations. Did anyone have any idea about this technology? how you can make sound proof with special windows or anyother technic? Of course if you don’t like to close windows forever this soundproof wouldn’t help much though.
