We’re all still hard-wired that way, tribal (3 million years genetic memory verse 8 thousand in civilization). Actually, it was probably civilization that caused patriarchal dominate societies and the suppression of women. Once we left the tribe women became much more dependent on man. If a man left a women in a tribe she still had somewhat equal access to resources(depending on circumstances). Men did not nearly have as much leverage over her.
Before modern organized religion we did worship the mother goddess.
Now after 10 thousand years the tides are turning.
