IMHO, finding happiness “from within” means learning how to, quite literally, “count your blessings.” If you find contentment with what you have, especially if you really appreciate the most basic and simple things in life, you will find happiness.
It seemed to me that scaredy was pretty much making this very point. There was nothing shallow or self-centered in his comment.
