[quote=paddyoh] Or maybe you are uber-rich and despise the thought of a blue-collar American worker making a living wage.
Whatever your problem with the average working stiff and their relationship with, or lack thereof, with a union, I really don’t care.
The only thing I know about unions is that without them Joe Bag O Donuts wouldn’t get the weekend off or get paid overtime for a 40-plus hour work-week. Or that child labor abuse might still be rampant.

Patty Cake: I have NO problem with the average working stiff whatsoever. That is not whom the union represents, and you and I both know that. We also know that you’re a former union guy and your assertion that without unions poor J6P wouldn’t get OT or weekends off is a laugher. Uh, maybe if we were still in the 1930s, yeah. But, given FLSA and OSHA and all of the other legislation and agencies responsible for fair working conditions and standards, no more.
So, what purpose do unions now serve? Well, again, I think we both know the answer, which explains YOUR vehement reaction to Right to Work states and any vehicles that are NOT American. I happen to drive American and always will, but I understand if someone else wants to choose something else. You, however, don’t seem to understand that and, moreover, would freely deprive them of that choice (as you’ve made clear previously).
Maybe your New Year’s resolution should be to leave Jeff Bridges alone (I know that you’re a pariah on his website) and find something else to obsess over.
