No one seems to be paying much attention to one of Maldonado’s demands, putting open primaries on the ballot. Is this a lost cause or is the majority still focused on the next 24 hours like usual?
Bill Handel said that our legislature is like two immovable forces hitting head on. Judging from the last budget crises I agree. Unless I’m missing something I think an open primary would be good for us in the long run. In principle I love the idea. Of course it is going to get tag-teamed by both the Blues and the Reds, oh and don’t forget the polarized media. Sigh.
Well, for the sake of conversation, does anyone know what open primaries have done for other states?
