Toshi Yamamoto VP of US Operations of Lexus USA lamented at last Tuesday’s North County business roundtable in Escondido, “We are in very very bad place, this reminds me of the beginning of the lost decade in Japan. I am very very nervous”, his nervousness was evident as he was clutching his Hello Kitty ™ doll. He went on to say “It is my daughter’s Hello Kitty, she will like, ha ha”.

As a followup to a recent March 14th North County Gazette article, Toshi Yamamoto VP of US Operations of Lexus USA was hospitalized due to unsuccessful Seppuku attempt. This form of Japanese ritual suicide is normally performed by plunging a sword into the abdomen. In Mr. Yamamoto’s case he attempted it with a blunt butter knife. After a brief visit to the emergency room, he was released. He is expected to make a full recovery and resume work next week after a brief recuperation.[/quote]
Wow, I guess I hadn’t read this before. Clutching Hello Kitty doll…suicide attempt with a butter knife. Unreal.
This almost sounds like a Saturday Night Live parody, but it’s real life.
