Actually, there are many historians that credit Christianity and it’s anti-science/knowledge stance, as a contributing factor to Rome’s decline. Of course, this lead to the “dark ages” and fun things such as burning scientists at the stake. During this time, when the Roman shit was hitting the Roman fan, the Christian ‘s blamed the gays.
