My personal opinion is that if you can buy in the La Playa area of PL, there is no better time.
This is fantastic irreplaceable real estate.
San Antonio place is one of my favorite streets in the US. A cul-de-sac flat street with views, access to the bay, no power lines, and a short walk into the retail of Pt Loma Village which is slowly coming into this century. There is a wonderful walkable bayside path on the way to Kellogg beach… The location has everything.
A house on 862 San Antonio Place sold last year for 1.387 mill, which I thought was a steal. This house is clustered on the cul-de-sac amongst many multi million dollar homes.
You can always improve and update the homes, but securing quality real estate is alaways a tough challenge.
These homes in LA Playa will seem very cheap down the road. I am locked in on the Sunset Cliffs side and very happy, but LA Playa seems like the bargain of this housing bust.
There is a foreclosure on San Fernando that sold in 1994 for 1.4 mill that is going to sell for $900,000 on a 10,000ft lot. It is closer to the tanks, but that is an another example of a steal.
