Mother Russia has been busy making alliances over the past few years. They flexed their energy muscles over Europe this past winter and France, Germany and Spain started playing footsies with Putin.
China just gave them 25 billion to them for an oil contract and had stated the need for a new “back” currency.
Chavez has coelesed South America against US interests and are starting a regional banking system.
Putin was the star @ Davos, the UK did not even show up and the US was isolated.
It’s not easy to figure out what is going on if you take your head out of the western media bubble.
This is very much a rejection of the western financial system and really who can blame them. Clinging to bombs and hubris will not help us. We should all be focusing on the homefront and not how much so and so has it worse than us.
About 2 or 3 years ago Putin told his people to start growing their own food. Bush asked people to buy houses and give up their rights. Obama just asked people to buy stocks. I wonder which advice will turn out to be better.
