I just can’t imagine RDU being terribly different from Columbia. I suppose it’s possible. I do agree that RDU is probably more cosmopolitan.
FWIW I didn’t like the Raleigh area enough to leave Ohio so I actually commuted for 2 years, traveling down to a room I rented once or twice a month. The drive down 77 through West Virgina, Virginia, and NC is quite scenic, and it was 9 hours I just didn’t mind driving. People would ask why I don’t move down here and I’d say Raleigh is very Clay Aiken, Northeast Ohio, is more Joe Walsh. That was my provincial side kicking in.
