Michelle Obama didn’t mean “work” in the sense of labor. She meant it in a “get off your ass and get involved in your awareness of current events, your country, your politics, your community.” In other words, no more intellectual laziness. We’ve seen first hand what 8 years of ignorance, bigotry, and fear gives us. She’s saying that those days are over.
She’s not saying “Obama will make you work in a factory for the motherland.”
So put that Godwin in your pipe and smoke it.
