Disagree with his politics, but don’t diminish the years he served our country in honor.

In which way did he served our country in honor when he was put in solitary confinement for over 5 years?
At every single meeting, he is introduced as a war hero. What is so heroic about sitting in jail and making anti-American propaganda confession?
To me, his assignment in Vietnam only served two things:
– the North Vietnamese
– to start his political career.

You punk.
Now you are going to make me defend the opponent.
I hope you are proud.
If you volunteer for multiple dangerous missions, survive a plane crash in the line of duty, and then endure years of torture, suffer multiple crippling injuries in the process, then rehabilitate yourself enough to fly jets again, and then serve as Sec Navy (or whatever it was he served as) then yes I think you do qualify as a hero.
Your position mazeltov, is not sustainable.
I would say lots of unpatriotic things with even a small amount of torture. Can you say you would do different?
Attacking his honor or patriotism is weak and unsupportable.
