Jumby: That is a seriously tough question. While I am a conservative Republican, I don’t see anyone on that side of the aisle that I support. I can’t get behind Hillary and, while I like Obama’s enthusiasm and (apparent) sincerity, I don’t feel he has the experience or the background when it comes to foreign policy/national security or domestic issues (consider his suddenly flagging support for higher teacher standards after being braced by the Teacher’s Union).
Ron Paul intrigues me, but there are certain overly libertarian aspects to his approach that I don’t think will work on the national stage, such as abolition of the IRS or a return to the gold standard.
Sorry for the evasive answer, but it just seems like the candidates keep getting worse and worse with each passing election. When Al Gore starts looking good, you know things are really bad.
