John: Its always been about “Bodies” (Democrats) versus “Money” (Republican). Like I said, I don’t question Democrat chicanery, whether we’re talking Tammany Hall, the Daley Chicago Machine, or the SEIU. I don’t think Republicans use these type tactics, rather, I believe they use a completely different set of tools, including influence peddling, voter suppression, etc.
As the saying goes: “All politics is local”. It should include the corollary: “All politics is dirty”. To suggest that the GOP is in any way blameless is risible, and it ignores the obvious fact that all politicians, regardless of stripe, ideology or party, exist to get elected and will do anything to do so.
