I’ve been an AMD fan since the 486 days. However, recently, I’ve switched to the Core 2 Duo. Ever since the Athlon first came out, it killed Intel in raw power as well as running cooler and at a slower speed. However, unlike Intel, they don’t have the capability to run multiple design concurrently. So they decide to focus on server side, which is where most of the profit is. The Opteron are still very competitive if not dominating. However, they’ve fallen out of grace w/ the gamers and enthusiast ever since the Core 2 Duo came on the market. This has cost them dearly in market share.
