I’m in New Orleans once a month on business and I was talking to a friend of mine there a couple of days ago and he told me that there are lines “out the doors” to get commercial fishing and shrimping licenses in southern Louisiana. Everyone wants a license so that they can sue BP for not allowing them to fish and shrimp. These are all new licenses – most of these folks don’t even own a boat.
Now, I want BP to pay out the ass on this disaster. But… we can’t even imagine the graft and shenanigans that are going to go on once folks start staking their claims on damage monies. And Louisianans are notoriously creative and corrupt where such things are concerned. I’m sure I’ll have some interesting stories to share.
