I’m a coastal girl but I really like parts of Valley Center especially if you are looking for more space and peace. I don’t live there so I can’t provide the inside scoop. But it seems like you can get to all of those needs you listed even if you have to drive a little more. To me, it’s a trade off. I’d live somewhere more rural with more land and more peace and the trade off is yes, maybe you have to drive a little longer to go shopping. So you plan better and go less often…big deal. As far as the summer heat, well, I guess it’s a personal preference but come on, the weather is pretty great in Valley Center compared to most of the country. I’d take a zillion inland places in CA and that type of summer heat vs. back East summers any day. Most of the year is fantastic. And even in the summer, I’m sure the majority of the days are perfectly comfortable in the shade. People are too quick to turn on the AC or heat today.
