If I am not mistaken the new Carmel Valley HS being built is not the primary HS for that area, it would be Torrey Pines. In Encinitas (same school district), the primary HS is La Costa Canyon. However there is a lottery for students who want to attend smaller but closer (for me) San Dieguito Academy. I believe that this school (Canyon Crest) is similar, perhaps specializing in sciences.
