I was going to start a new topic on PQ/Torrey Highlands today but saw this and thought I’d tag along…
I have a couple questions for those in the know. We’re not buying, it’s just me being curious.
We moved into the townhomes here a couple months ago and walk the dogs over in the area by that Via Canyon place. There are 12 homes in the neighborhood w/ For Sales signs in the yards, including one w/ an Auction sign in the yard. Not to mention a couple homes that look deserted w/out signs in the yard. When I checked zillow (I know, not the best yard stick), not one house is listed for sale in that area. On SDLookup, I don’t see any others in that neighborhood listed either.
Are homes only being listed in MLS to keep them off the radar of the buyers, are these old listings where the sign people just have not collected their signs, is it a cost issue (do agents have to pay to list on zillow or SDLookup?)
I was trying to figure out what the homes are going for these days but haven’t seen closed sales since most sold in 2003. Will the Via Canyon one be the new price to beat when it closes?
Second question is, what the Harley is going on on Camino Del Sur north of me, kind of across from Westview and north-ish from that neighborhood where Via Canyon is ….Large earth moving equipment is clearing what look like house lots – and lots of them. It looks like someone has started back up a building project. Seriously? It looks like they could cram another 40 brand new homes in that little pocket – 40 homes that will need yards and window coverings…Guess everythig is okey-dokey with the economy and we are running low on houses again and people are flush with cash to go buy new home decor – time to buy some Home Depot stock?
I’m so confused…guess that’s why I’m a renter ;>)
Another area I’m intrigued by is a ‘hood called Verazanno in Santa Luz….It’s a little “Stepford Wives” but I kinda dig the garden parks and the way the homes all face out while garages are tucked away in alleys….I think there’s a bit of a “Pain Train” (thanks TG) coming through the area
though as more than a few For Sale signs have sprouted in the yards with the Spring season….Anyone here follow that area? I imagine wicked mello roos and HOA’s.
