I suppose that after a year you could just transfer the balance to another 0% teaser rate credit card. Now what is most likely going to happen is he is going to see a $0 balance on his HELOC, feel like he can spend a “little” of it and a year later he will have 40K on his credit card and 40K back on his HELOC…and a whole bunch of new toys….
